Behind Ynscarly and Guethchine is their temporary shelter provided by Compassion Haiti. They are so thankful for a safe place to stay after losing everything.
Ten-year old Ynscarly Dominique and her 12-year old sister, Guethchine, were trapped under the rubble of their house for nine hours before being rescued by their father and neighbors. Ynscarly had a severely injured leg and Guethchine received a serious blow to her head near her left eye.
There were no medical facilities available in the Port-au-Prince area. With Compassion’s help, though, they were taken to the hospital three days later. If Ynscarly had not received Compassion’s help, she would have not only lost her leg but died from the infection. Both children are recovering and are back at school.
“Compassion is the best family I have ever had,” Dominique’s father said. “We did not know what to do with the children, but Compassion sent a vehicle and people from the office carried them to the hospital to receive care. I am forever indebted for the work Compassion has done in the lives of the children.”

What a joy to hear how God has used you and it is the very reason I don’t think twice about helping out as needs arise, when it is within my means.
The media only dwells on the pathetic and negative aspects of this tragedy. I have prayed for Haiti many times that God would do a mighty thing. It looks like He’s doing that and more. May all who suffer find him in the rubble so He can lift them up from the miry clay and set that nation on a Rock, Himself. God continue to bless you mightily.
WE HAVE 10 CHILDREN THAT OUR FAMILY HAS HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO PRAY FOR AND SUPPORT THROUGH COMPASSION. WE BELIEVE THIS MINISTRY IS REPUTABLE AND GOD FEARING, AND COUNTED ON THE FACT THAT THE LORD JESUS WAS TO BE THE MAIN FOCUS IN THIS MINISTRY. UNFORTUNATELY ANY OF THE INFO AND BROCHURES ETC. WE RECEIVED DOES NOT EVEN MENTION THE NAME OF JESUS! WE ARE SAD THAT THAT IS HAPPENING. WE ARE CONCERNED OF COARSE ABOUT THE LIVING CONDITIONS, BUT MUCH MORE ABOUT THEIR SPIRITUAL LIVES. HAVE YOU CHANGED THE FOCUS? SINCERELY, RICHARD
Hey Richard,
Thank you so much for voicing your concern and bringing that to our attention. I am happy to reply that our stance and focus is still very much Christ centered. You can visit these sites to see just how we are fulfilling that commitment: http://www.compassion.com/about/compassioncommitment.htm and http://blog.compassion.com/always-about-jesus-name/.
